About Joseph Stiglitz

Recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2001, Stiglitz is internationally recognized as one of the leading economists of his generation.

One of the creators of “The Economy of Information”, a new branch of economics, he was a member of the Council of Economic Advisers for the Clinton administration between 1995 and 1997, where he helped influence and design and evaluation of economic politics over the past decade. Internationally recognized as an educator of the economy, he founded one of the leading publications, The Journal of Economic Perspectives, and is currently a professor at Columbia University. A prolific writer, his latest book Price of Inequality was published in June of 2012.
