Hernández made it to Google by first excelling in e-commerce on his own, his ventures turning into some of the most successful internet companies in Spain such as Idealist.com, FloresFrescas.com, and 11870.com. He has been an early investor in the leading Spanish social network Tuenti, and is founder and president of StepOne, a company that serves as a platform for Spanish tech companies to become more global.  In 2009 he was recognized as the Tech Entrepreneur of the Year by Banesto Foundation.
