About Alondra de la Parra

The first Mexican woman to conduct an orchestra in New York City, in 2003 at just 23 years-old she founded the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas.


Her conducting has gained widespread esteem, and she was even named “an extraordinary conductor” by Plácido Domingo. De la Parra has directed more than 20 unedited works, including some of the most acclaimed in the history of music such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Mahler.
